Q: Does the PointoSelect Digital detect and treat body points?
A: Yes, you can place it in modes for body points and for ear points. The Pointoselect Digital also comes with a special probe end cap used in detecting body points.

Q: Should I treat both ears?
A: You can treat one or both ears in the same treatment. The preference is usually to start with the ear on the same side of the body as the symptom, if applicable.

Q: Is there a timer for the treatment? How long do I treat?
A: You control the length of the treatment by holding the “T” button on the probe to treat. When you release the button, the Pointoselect Digital reverts to measurement/locate mode. A treatment duration of 15-30 seconds per point is usually effective.

Q: How often do I treat?
A: The Pointoselect Digital is safe to use every day, if needed. Many conditions may not need such frequent treatment.

Q: After I treat with the PointoSelect, will the point still show active if I search for it?
A: Yes. The treatment actually “charges up” the point in the skin so it will still show active after treatment. It may even show more active (less resistance) after treatment.

Q: What gives better results? Needles? Laser? Or Electric stim?
A: All three approaches give good results. Treat according to your preference and patient comfort.

Q: What’s the difference between the blue PointoSelect and the white PointoSelect?

Q: There are two caps that came on the probe, a black cap and then another clear plastic tube. Do I remove both?
A: No, just remove the black cap for treatment. It is designed to protect your probe tip when not in use. DO NOT remove the clear/white plastic tube from the probe. It is integral to proper probe function.

Q: I’m trying to scan the ear and I don’t hear anything/nothing is happening. What am I doing wrong?
A: Here are a few important tips:

Make sure you are in detection/measurement mode.
The patient must hold the hand bar to complete the circuit.
Scan slowly and carefully. Ear points are tiny.
Make sure the volume is turned up on your Pointoselect Digital.

Q: Do I or the patient need to hold the hand bar for it to detect points?
A: The patient must hold the bar. If you are treating yourself, then you need to hold the bar.

Q: What are the contraindications to using Pointoselect Digital? Can it be used in pregnancy?
Do not use the Pointoselect on open wounds or in the eyes. The safety of use during pregnancy has not been established.

Q: I’m new to auriculotherapy, should I buy the Pointoselect or the Stimplus?

Q: Can I treat with the Pointoselect and the Stimplus Pro during one / same treatment?
A: Yes, you could use each on a different body area during the same treatment.

Q: How do I bill insurance for Pointoselect / Stimplus MicroCurrent?
A: Though we can’t give specific advice, you might consider using code 97032 (Application of a modality to one or more areas; electrical stimulation [manual] each 15 minutes). Check with your contracted insurance companies to verify before using this code.

Q: How much should I charge patient for Auriculotherapy?
A: Typical fees vary, based on location, licensure, time spent, other included services, etc. This is a professional healthcare service and should be charged accordingly.

Q: Do I need a certificate or license to use the Pointoselect Digital?
A: As an electrical stimulation device, the Pointoselect Digital should be used by, or on the orders of, a properly licensed healthcare professional. States differ as to scope of practice and required licensure. Typically, medical doctors, dentists, chiropractors, acupuncturists and physical therapists have electrical modalities in their scope of practice. Check with your state licensing board to get correct information for your state.

Q: Can you ship this internationally?
A: We can ship to most countries. We currently cannot ship to Mexico. Please check with your country’s import regulations before ordering for international delivery.
